How does it work?

Mechanisms of action.

Tyrosinase inhibition

Luteolin binds to tyrosinase, blocking its function. Reduces melanin accumulation in melanocytes. Prevents the formation of dark spots and localized pigmentation.

MITF regulation

MITF controls the genes that produce melanin in melanocytes. Luteolin modulates MITF expression, regulating melanogenesis at the genetic level and promoting a more even skin tone.

Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity

Neutralizes free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS). Reduces inflammatory mediators that stimulate post-inflammatory pigmentation. This protects the skin from dullness, inflammation and environmental stress, keeping it clearer, calmer and more radiant.

In vitro assay performed on human keratinocytes (HaCaT) to evaluate repair capacity against solar damage. Cells were irradiated with simulated sunlight and treated with different concentrations of the compound for 24 h. Cell viability was measured using the MTT assay.
